❤️ Origami ❤️

What am I looking at?

👋 Hi; I'm Dan Q, and this is my contribution to day 14 of Weird Web October 2026.

I recently learned how to fold an origami paper heart and thought I'd share it with you... interactively! The (weird) world wide web is wonderful, and I wanted to celebrate my love of it with a big heart. (Some assembly required.)

If you have difficulty with the touch-and-drag/click-and-drag interface, it's also possible to advance through the stages by pressing the space bar on your keyboard.

Credit where it's due

Mad props to Pippin Barr for the it is as if" interface used in, for example, It is as if you were playing chess, which inspired my "arrows".

Shout out to origami.me for helping me double-check that there wasn't some easier/better way to do this particular bit of origami.

Big love to Sebastian Wetzel for ConfettiJS, which I slightly-adapted for the end-of-folding confetti effect.
